UN campaign to end poverty “In My Name”

In 2000, world leaders committed to ending extreme poverty through the millennium development goals. In 2008, poverty still takes 50.000 lives a day. It’s time for world leaders to keep their promises
“ I want the government to respect, protect and fulfill the food rights as a way to overcome poverty and hunger�.
“In my name the government must keep their promises to end poverty�.
This call has been relayed by celebrities (singers, actors, political leaders…) and by people from all over the world (Africa, America, Asia, Europe) asking their leaders to invest in health, to establish universal education, to achieve gender equality, to combat disease, and most of all, to keep their promises : end poverty and achieve the millennium development goals.
